Family, Fellowship, Meetings, and Winding Down

Dr. Seawell and Hilltop BaptistOn June 10, we headed to Thomasville, NC to join Hilltop Baptist Church for the their midweek prayer service. It was refreshing to be able to pray as a church at the altar for the many different needs. Dr. Seawell allowed us to give testimony and present the work to the Dominican Republic.

On June 14, our deputation schedule had us at Shenandoah Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC to sing, present, Shenandoah Baptist in Rocky Mount, NCand preach. Pastor Hill has faithfully preached at this ministry for over 47 years! It is an encouragement to us to see the faithfulness of Pastor Hill and many others who have stood steadfastly in the gap.

DesktopFrom June 15-18, we attended our World Wide Family Fellowship Week in Greensboro, NC. Pastor Fred Daniel and Brookhaven Baptist Church truly embodied a kind and giving host. We had the privilege to hear from our board directors, visiting pastors (including Stephanie’s dad), and our fellow missionaries. It was uplifting to look at Habakkuk and be reminded that we can choose joy no matter what we face in life! We always look forward to this week each and every year.

After spending Father’s day with Stephanie’s dad, we drove to Mechanicsville, VA to be withRural Point Baptist Church's choir Rural Point Baptist Church. Pastor Greg Parisher gave us the opportunity to present the work, teach Sunday School, and preach in the morning service. We are thankful for his service and the service of his father, Dr. Gene Parisher. He has had a part in training the three pastors that Tim has worked for during and after college!

It is hard to believe that we are quickly approaching the end of our deputation trail. God has been good to us! We are at 92% of our needed monthly support! We are in the midst of wrapping up things on the home front. Please pray as we complete paperwork, finalize container details, look at plane tickets, and work on the many other things to wrap up before we leave. Here, There, and Everywhere

Crossroads Baptist in Bailey's Crossroads, VAFrom May 13-17, we had the wonderful privilege of participating in the mission conference at Crossroads Baptist Church in Bailey’s Crossroads, VA. Our hearts were encouraged and stirred through the outreach of the church and the preaching of Dr. Don Sisk. It was an honor for me to present for the church; Dr. Kenny Baldwin was preaching the youth rally when God called me to missionary service over thirteen years ago in June 2002! At the end of the conference, the church voted to partner with us prayerfully and financially!

On Sunday, May 24, we drove to Frewsburg, NY to take part in the Sunday services at First Baptist Church. Pastor Cultrara and his First Baptist in Frewsburg, NYfamily hosted us in their home and at the church. We enjoyed teaching Sunday School, presenting the ministry, and preaching the morning service. The Lord has used this church in Frewsburg for over 175 years!

On Wednesday, May 27, we headed to Tioga, PA for the midweek service at Tabernacle Baptist Church. We enjoyed meeting Pastor Neff and the church family. We again were thankful for the opportunity to present the ministry, field questions about the Dominican Republic, and preach from God’s Holy Word.

New Testament Baptist in Gibsonville, NCOn Sunday, May 31, we were back in North Carolina at New Testament Baptist Church in Gibsonville. It was exciting to see the new church building being built beside their current storefront location. We had the opportunity to present the work and look at John 4 on how Jesus reached the Samaritan woman at the well.

On Sunday, June 7, our travels brought us to Greenville, SC. It was a blessing for both of us to teach Sunday School,Tabernacle Baptist in Greenville, SC present the work, and sing during the service. We were excited to meet the people and see what God has done through the church under Dr. Aiken and Dr. Sightler before him.

We are now over 90% of our needed support, and a few churches have contacted us in the past few weeks about their commitment to us financially. It has truly been amazing to watch God bring in our support! We would ask for your prayers as we are waiting for one document to come in so that we can apply for our visas. Also, please pray as we take the necessary steps to move to the Dominican Republic.

Springfield, Alpine, Welcome, and Chilhowie

South Haven Baptist in Springfield, TNOn Wednesday, April 22, we made our way to Springfield, TN to participate in the midweek prayer meeting at South Haven Baptist Church. Pastor Gagliano and the church family made us feel very much at home. We enjoyed the song service, and Tim was able to present the work and share a message from God’s Word. At the conclusion of the service, the church voted to immediately take us on for support!

From Friday to Sunday, April 24-26, we took part in the mission conference at Grace Baptist Church in Alpine, TN. Grace Baptist in Alpine, TNIt was a refreshing weekend to spend with Pastor Copeland and this wonderful church family. We were blessed to sing specials, teach, preach, and give our ministry presentation. We also enjoyed hearing Dr. Whetstone, our mission president, powerfully preach from the Bible.

Lighthouse Baptist in Lexington, NCOn Wednesday, April 29, we were warmly welcomed in Welcome, NC at Lighthouse Baptist Church. It was a blessing to fellowship with Pastor Varnadore and his family before service as well as get to know the congregation. Tim, as always, enjoyed sharing the work and Word of God.

On Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3, we headed back to southwest Virginia to attend Chilhowie Baptist Church in Chilhowie, DSCN2622VA. Stephanie was able to take part of their annual spring ladies banquet and hear the director’s wife from Reformers Unanimous share with the church. On Sunday, we were encouraged to hear the director of RU, Brother Burks give the messages. We were able to set up a display, sing in the morning service, and share the ministry. We look forward to returning to the church in July to celebrate the wedding for Tim’s youngest brother!

StephanieWe are looking forward to observing Mother’s Day in the coming week. We are grateful for our godly mothers! I am also so thankful for Stephanie, my faithful wife and mother of our children, who travels with me on the deputation trail and the journey of life. God has greatly blessed me with an amazing help meet!

East Coast Journeys

Oak Level BaptistOn Wednesday, April 8, our travels brought us to Stokesdale, NC to be with Oak Level Baptist Church. Pastor Walker and the church family welcomed us in with open arms. Tim enjoyed presenting the work, fielding questions, and sharing the message from God’s Word.

On Sunday, April 12, we had two meetings. First, we were in Clayton, DE, just outside ofCalvary Baptist in Clayton, DE Smyrna, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Hadley. It was great to be able to sing, present the work, and preach about the message of Calvary that is ours to share with others, and we also enjoyed seeing the one of Tim’s friends from Harvester Baptist in Ellicott Citywhen he was in the youth group faithfully serving in the church. Second, we drove just south of Baltimore, MD to be with Harvester Baptist Church. Pastor Simpson graciously allowed us to set up our table, present the work, and preach the evening service. We enjoyed fellowship with the people as well as the Daza’s, our host family for the evening.

On Sunday, April 18, we again had two separate destinations. In the morning, Tabernacle Baptist and Pastor Sellewwe were with Pastor Chip Sellew at Tabernacle Baptist in Mebane, NC. We were thankful to be able to present the work, sing, teach Sunday School, and preach the morning service. As always, we loved the time of fellowship Pastor Washington and El Bethel Baptistwith pastor and the church members after the service. In the evening, we had the opportunity to be at El Bethel Baptist Church in Wadesboro, NC. Pastor Washington, his family, and the church warmly welcomed us to their evening service. We sang, presented the work, and shared from God’s living Word!

We can not thank you enough for your prayers for our family! We are so humbled to hear of people all around the East Coast that have been praying for us! We look forward to two meetings in Tennessee later this week as well as our new support report.

Carolina, Resurrection, and a Big Announcement!

Grace Baptist in Woodland, NCOn Wednesday, March 25, we made our way to Woodland, NC to join Grace Baptist Church for their midweek service. Pastor Russell, a veteran missionary to the Midwest, allowed us to present the work and field questions from the people. It was a blessing to see him and his son serving together at the church.

On Sunday, March 29, we had two churches on the schedule. In the morning, we headed to High Point, NC Highland Baptist in High Point, NCfor the Sunday School and morning service at Highland Baptist. Tim was able to present the work, give testimony, and teach the adult Sunday School class. We enjoyed meeting Pastor and Mrs. Eaton and spending time with them at lunch. In the evening, Pastor Baker and Northwood Baptist Church invited us to join Northwood Baptistthem for their service. Again, it was a privilege to share our testimony and the work God has given us to do. After the presentation, Pastor Baker came to the platform and made a motion to add us to their missionary family! Praise the Lord for more churches that have partnered with us!

As we reflected on Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection these past few days, I could not help but think of what Easter family picturePaul said in Romans 4:25, “Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification“. It still amazes me how God gave His very Best to pay and die for my sin debt and how Jesus Christ rose again so that I can stand righteous before God! I am glad that I serve a Risen Savior!

We wanted to pass along to everyone a big announcement – we have completed our outfit and passage fund! We want to thank everyone who gave sacrificially so that we can travel to and set up house in the Dominican Republic. May God bless you for your gifts to us!

Bringing in Spring

Independent Baptist Church choir in Pound, VAThe third Sunday in March was an unofficial Crown College alumni Sunday. We were privileged to be with two fellow alumni pastors in the morning and evening. On Sunday morning, we were in Pound, VA at Independent Baptist Church with the Dent family. Tim worked for Mrs. Dent’s father all four years in college. Pastor Dent extended the invitation for us to sing, give our testimonies, present the work, and teach Sunday school. On Sunday evening, we headed back to Glade Springs, VA on Interstate 81 to join Joy Baptist ChurchTeaching the teens at Joy Baptist for their evening service. We enjoyed teaching the youth group before the evening service as well as presenting the ministry and giving the special music. Pastor Overbay, his family, and the church were excellent hosts. We enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship with both of these families!

Rural Retreat Baptist ChurchOn Wednesday, March 18, we continued meetings in southwest Virginia at Rural Retreat Baptist Church in Rural Retreat, VA. The church members made us feel right at home with them for their midweek prayer service. Pastor graciously allowed us to present the work and preach.

We returned briefly to the northeast on Sunday, March 22. It was exciting to attend our home and sendingFirst Baptist in Howell, NJ church in Downingtown, PA for the morning service. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful church behind us. In the evening, we headed east to Howell, NJ to present and preach at First Baptist Church. Pastor Gaul and his family were an encouragement to us during the service and afterwards with a time of fellowship.

Currently, our support level is at 82%, and we are eagerly anticipating receiving our new level later this week! Thank you again for your prayers and support for our family. Our departure date is steadily drawing closer!

On to Warmer Weather

Fellowship Baptist in Clayton, NCOn Sunday, February 22, we had the opportunity to take part in the evening service at Fellowship Baptist Church in Clayton, NC. We enjoyed meeting Dr. Ennis and the church family after we had heard so much about them. Tim was able to present the work and preach the evening service.

Next, we made our way through snow and ice to warm, sunny Florida. From Wednesday to Sunday, February 25 to March 1, we participated in the mission conference at New Testament Baptist in Largo, FLNew Testament Baptist Church where Tim’s sister and brother-in-law attend. We loved sharing about the work each weeknight of the conference as well as in the Sunday services. Pastor Trill, the staff, and the church took wonderful care of us.

On Wednesday, March 4, we drove south to Sarasota, FL to worship with Temple Baptist Church. Pastor Temple Baptist in Sarasota, FLKrachenfels serves alongside us at World Wide, and he had a part in our interview with the board. We enjoyed the fellowship with pastor, his wife, and the church members, and we were thankful for the opportunity to sing, present, and share from God’s eternal word.

Southside Baptist in Tampa, FLAfter a schedule change, we dropped in at a few churches in the Clearwater, FL area on March 8. On Wednesday, March 11, we drove east across the bay to Southside Baptist Church in Tampa, FL. We enjoyed dinner with Pastor Nance and the opportunity to meet the friendly congregation. We  presented the ministry as well as sang. Before the message, Pastor Nance and the church asked us to partner with them and represent the church in the Dominican Republic, and they gathered around us in prayer for the work!

We have returned to cooler temperature, but we are looking forward to our next meetings in Virginia, New Jersey, and North Carolina. We have now seen $26,000 come in for our outfit and passage fund, and we have heard from a few churches of their desire to support us financially! Praise our Great God!

Carolina and Georgia

Lighthouse Baptist in Seagrove, NC   We continued a busy schedule at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Seagrove, NC on January 28. Pastor Poindexter invited us to join them for the last night of their church mission conference. It was enriching to see the congregation sing and listen intently and enthusiastically to the presentation and preaching. Dr. Scott Caudill preached a powerful and convicting message as always regarding God’s blessing on a church that supports world evangelism. Pastor called us afterwards to tell us of the church’s vote to partner with us financially!

On Wednesday, February 4, we attended Meadows Baptist Church in Walnut Cove, NC. Pastor Craig graciMeadows Baptist Church in Walnut Cove, NCously allowed us to share a testimony and present the work. We enjoyed being able to see some familiar faces in the congregation Trulite Baptist in High Point, NCas well as make new friends. Sunday, February 8 brought us to Trulite Baptist Church, located in High Point, NC. It was a joy to be with Pastor Whiteheart and his wife, Stephanie’s aunt and uncle, during their evening service. We had the privilege to testify, present, and sing in the service, and we were challenged from the message to strive for the Lord’s work.

On Sunday, February 15, we drove down to Gray, GA to be with Calvary Baptist Church. We were able toCalvary Baptist and Pastor Mundy in Gray, GA sing, testify, present, and preach. Pastor Mundy, Pastor Chapman, and the church members were so welcoming, and we enjoyed the fellowship with them after the service. We had a short trip on Wednesday, February 18 to be with True Gospel Baptist Church in cold Madison, NC. We enjoyed seeing Pastor Manuel and many familiar faces True Gospel Baptist in Madison, NCamong the congregation. Pastor allowed us to sing, testify, present, and preach from the Word of God. It was great to be a part of their midweek prayer service.

We continue to plug away at the 2015 deputation year. God has continually provided for all of our needs as He promised He would! We have been encouraged to hear from a number of churches recently regarding new financial support. Also, please pray for us as we begin the visa process to move to the Dominican later this year.

Up and Down the East Coast

Calvary Ind. Baptist in Quarryville, PAOn Sunday, January 18, we headed back up north to take part in two services. In the morning service, we attended Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Quarryville, PA. Pastor Crisman was gracious to allow us to present the work, teach Sunday school, and to give testimony. We enjoyed a time of lunch and fellowship at the church with his family following the service. In the evening service, wGateway Baptist in Rising Sun, MDe attended Gateway Baptist in Rising Sun, MD. Pastor Landers and his wife serve along with us at World Wide, and they have been such an encouragement to us in the time that we have known them. We were grateful for the chance to present, testify, and preach during the service.

Seven Oaks Baptist in South Boston, VAWednesday, January 21 brought us to South Boston, VA to be with Seven Oaks Baptist Church. Pastor McMillan and the church warmly welcomed us to their midweek prayer service. As always, it was a joy to present and preach to the congregation. We were thrilled to hear of the vote next week concerning our support!

On Sunday evening, January 25, Tim made his way to Delco, NC to be with Livingston BaptisLivingston Baptist in Delco, NCt Church. Pastor Griffin and the church family were so friendly and welcomed him with open arms. He was able to present the work and preach about the believer’s role in world evangelism. On the return trip, he had a few car issues, but God allowed them to happen within two miles of a mechanic who was able to fix it the same day! We are thankful that God controls our steps!

Praise the Lord that we are now at 77% of our needed monthly support! We are so thankful for the new churches that God has brought alongside us in prayer and financial support! Also, please pray for us as Landon has been sick and unable to travel. We want to thank you so much for your prayers!

Beginning 2015

AIMG_4156fter a few weeks off following the birth of Elena and holidays with family, the Germanos began the first Sunday of 2015 with a Mission Sunday in East Bend, NC. Mt. Bethel Baptist Church and Pastor Watts invited us to join them for this exciting day on their church calendar. We enjoyed the opportunity to teach in Sunday school and testify of what the Lord has done in our lives. It was a joy to hear Dr. Scott Caudill share from the Word of God in both services.

DSCN2115On Wednesday January 7, Stephanie and I celebrated four years of marriage! It was great to reflect on what God has done in our lives, and we are so thankful that God brought us together. I am blessed to have a wonderful help meet by my side as we seek to accomplish what the Lord has for us!

TBC WilsonFrom January 8-9, we made our way down to Wilson, NC to participate in the end of the mission’s conference at Trinity Baptist Church. Pastor Renfrow and the church made us feel right at home. We were thankful for the privilege to present the work in the Dominican. As always, our hearts were blessed and challenged from the preaching of the president of World Wide, Dr. Danny Whetstone! We received word today that the church is partnering with us in the DR!

We are rejoicing in what God has done throughout our deputation. We are now over 70% of our needed support along with several new churches that have voted to begin financial partnership with us this month! Our outfit and passage fund is now in the final stretch at over 90%! Thank you so much for your prayers. We would ask that you pray with us that we would be able to move to the Dominican Republic this coming summer!
