West and East Virginia

Marion Ind. Baptist ChurchThe last few weeks we have seen snowy, cold West Virginia and warm, sunny east Virginia; it is amazing what a week brings temperature wise! On Sunday, February 16, we were in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia at Marion Independent Baptist Church in Rivesville. We were excited about the invitation given to us by Pastor Toothman to participate in their mission’s month services. We were able to teach Sunday school, present, and preach the afternoon service. It was also a special surprise to eat many delicious Dominican dishes from the church family at lunch.

From Wednesday to Sunday, February 19-23, we were able to attend the mission conference at Stephanie teaching at Maranatha Baptist ChurchMaranatha Baptist Church in Yorktown, VA. Our hearts were overwhelmed through the Christ-like spirit and generosity in their church. Pastor Coffey allowed us to present the work and minister to the children on Wednesday night and in Sunday school. The church family was so excited about the cause of world evangelism, and they sacrificially and abundantly gave to us in help of our ministry and personal needs. We were surprised again to be able to have wonderful Dominican dishes at their International banquet on Saturday!

Praise the Lord we are now at 36% of our needed support! God is good, all the time. Also, we have received more outfit and passage support in the last few weeks. Thank you so much for your prayers!

Virginia Meetings

Gospel Light Baptist in Covington, VAWe have traveled to different parts of Virginia over the past week. On February 2, we had a last minute cancellation, and we were able to attend the church where Tim was raised. Pastor Gray graciously allowed him to preach and give a report on our travels. On Wednesday, February 5, we drove to Covington, VA to preach and present in Gospel Light Baptist Church. It was a joy to meet Pastor and Mrs. Nicely who have been faithfully serving in the ministry for over 50 years! On Sunday, February 9, we presented in Faith Baptist Church in Staunton, VA. We were thankful for the opportunity given to us by Pastor Brown to speak about our burden for the people of the Dominican Republic.

We are now at 30% support with more promised to come in the coming months! Also, we have already raised over $3,000 of the amount needed for our Faith Baptist in Staunton, VAdeparture. Praise the Lord for His provision. Please continue to pray for us as we travel and as we finish scheduling meetings for this year. Also, we ask that you join in prayer for us as we are aiming to be on the field by June 2015.

Survey Trip Overview and Church Meetings

Preaching at Great Commission Baptist ChurchIt has been a fast paced New Year for the Germano family. We began 2014 by traveling to the Dominican Republic for our survey trip. We were able to stay for two weeks and survey the field in which God has called us. Thank you for those who faithfully prayed for us while we traveled and ministered in the country. We were able to preach and teach on a few a occasions in two churches in the capitol as well as visit some of the national pastors and their churches. The Lord has led us to partner with missionaries Ron and Chona Autrey and Jonathan and Jeanine Autrey at New Life Baptist Church. We will help in the church and school ministry while we attend language school and become acclimated to Dominican life. We have uploaded some of the pictures from our trip which can be viewed here.

Once we returned, we were able to visit two churches on January 19. First, we preached downloadand presented our work at Little Creek Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA with Pastor Smith. We were thankful for the time we spent with pastor and his wife along with the church members. Second, we drove to Richmond that afternoon to present in Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA. We were grateful for the opportunity given to us by Pastor Haskett to speak more about our burden for the DR. On Friday, January 24, we had the chance to speak and present at Gospel Light Christian School in Walkertown, NC. Stephanie especially enjoyed giving her testimony at her alma mater.

download 2The weather has had some impact on a few meetings we had scheduled. One was moved on Wednesday, January 22 to a later date due to snow. Another was cut short due to a second snow storm in the Virginia area. We were privileged to present the work at Liberty Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA on Sunday and Monday, January 26-27 before the snow came. Pastor Goebel set up a few extended sessions for us to speak to the church family.

Praise the Lord for His guidance and protection. We are now at 28% support with many additional churches promising to begin support in the coming months. We have also included a goal on our sidebar for outfit and passage. We give God the glory for helping us to already raise $2,500 of the $25,000 we will need to ship our belongings, purchase a vehicle, and set up our house in the Dominican. Please help us pray that God would provide the funds needed for our move.

Halfway Report on our Survey Trip

We are so blessed to have the opportunity to spend a few days in the Dominican Republic. We have been able to fellowship with missionaries here in Santo Domingo as well as teach and sing at New Life Baptist Church, pastored by Jonathan Autrey. We have traveled to different parts of the island to see the great need for churches in spiritually dark places. It has been exciting to talk with the missionaries and nationals about our future here in the country. We have priced different living expenses as well as become better prepared for our move and transition to this mission field. Please continue to pray that God would give us safety and direction as we continue on our survey trip.

In Christ,
Tim and Stephanie Germano

Survey Trip to the Dominican Republic

Dear Praying Friends,

Thank you so much for your prayers for our family this past year. Words can not express what it means to us when we hear often how prayers are being offered to God on our behalf. We would ask for prayer in the following areas as we leave for our survey trip tomorrow to the Dominican Republic:
1. Safety in travel
2. God’s leading for our future
3. God’s blessing as we minister
We appreciate your prayer support, and we look forward to updating about our trip. We will return on January 14.

By God’s Grace,
The Germano Family

Curwensville, PA and Kernersville, NC

Curwensville, PAOn Sunday, November 17, we returned to Pennsylvania  to minister in the services at Community Baptist Church. We were so thankful that the pastor rescheduled the meeting for us so that we could attend. Our hearts were challenged and uplifted during the morning service, and we were able to present about the Dominican Republic and preach in the evening service. As always, we enjoy the opportunity to not only talk about our burden but also to meet and fellowship with believers around the country.

We enjoyed a few days from traveling as we celebrated Thanksgiving with family and friends. From December 5-8, we had the wonderful privilege to be involved in the first annual mission Kerwin Baptist Churchconference at Kerwin Baptist Church in Kernersville, NC. From the moment we walked into the church, you could sense the excitement and anticipation among the people. Our hearts were challenged through the other missionaries and Dr. David Gibbs, and they were overflowing from the kindness and giving spirit of the members (even the 2 and 3 year old class!). We feel truly blessed and undeserving of the blessings that God gives us through other believers.

Praise the Lord for two more churches promising to partner with us! God is good!

Conference at Hico and a Look into the Past

image (2)Our busy fall schedule continued with meetings in 3 different churches in less than a week. From November 6-8, we were able to take part in a few days of the mission conference at Hico Baptist Church in Graham, NC. We enjoyed spending time with Pastor Mros, meeting the church, and talking with other missionaries and our mission board president Dr. Whetstone and his wife. It was a joy to not only present the work in the DR to the adults but also to spend one night with the children.

On Sunday, November 10, we returned to the church that Stephanie and her family attended in Bedford when they lived in Virginia. She was excited to take part in the mission’s month at Calvary Baptist Church where she learned so much as a child. Pastor Lyons and Pastor Hester were so generous to allow us to present and preach.

On Wednesday, November 13, we attended Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC to photogive our presentation. This is another church and ministry that had a significant impact on Stephanie’s life as she attended and graduated from their Christian school. We are thankful for the opportunity that Pastor Roberson gave us to talk about our mission work and the time spent meeting with friends at the church.

Pennsylvania to North Carolina

IMG_1465After a few days off to take care of some things in Virginia, we returned to Pennsylvania to be with Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church in Enola for the final Sunday of their mission’s month. We enjoyed the time of fellowship with the Grahams and the church, and we were very thankful for the opportunity to present the ministry.

On Monday, we enjoyed traveling down Interstate 81 to North Carolina with the beautiful fall photo(1)colors. From October 30 to November 3, we took part of the mission conference at Good News Baptist Church with Pastor David Fulp (our father/father-in-law) in Madison, NC. We always look forward to presenting the work in churches that have had such an influence on our lives. It was also good to have time to fellowship with Missionary Dalton Heath, a veteran missionary serving with World Wide.

We are praising God for two new supporters! We are currently at 21% promised support! Also, we updated our prayer card, and we hope you will check it out.

We are so thankful for the open doors given to us by the pastors to present the work that God has given us.

On Saturday, October 19, we met with Jonathon Autrey, veteran missionary in the Dominican Republic. We will have the opportunity to visit and stay with Jonathon and 715d6435-bfc4-4e57-a980-686f60784ea5his father, Ron Autrey during our survey trip. We ordered our tickets, and we will be traveling and ministering in the DR from January 2 to January 14. Back Where We Started

16dc1b86-ef3d-47fa-abed-a4d3471c7b71We were able to return to our home and sending church and help out in the completion of the reconstruction following the fire we faced in January 2013. It was a joy to see our church family, to labor alongside them and the pastor in restoring the building, and to attend the first Sunday services back in the church building.

8170c892-e775-4502-b757-ed34c0f97225On Sunday, September 22, we attended Inner City Baptist Church in Mt. Ephraim, NJ with Pastor Anthony Garris. The Lord has allowed our church to support Brother Garris as he plants churches in the Camden area, and we were excited to present our ministry to the church. It is amazing to see the full circle as these new church plants are beginning to support missions!

dfd46794-9798-4865-bded-c5b8816e0d9fThis past week, Pastor Venable invited us to take part in our home church’s mission conference. He graciously allowed us to preach, teach, and sing (along with staying in his home) during the week. On Sunday, September 29, Faith Community Baptist Church commissioned our family as their missionaries to the Dominican Republic. We are so thankful for a pastor and church who take care of their own and who prayerfully and financially support us as we do the work God has given us.

Also, praise the Lord for another supporting church! We appreciate your prayers, and we know God is faithful to hear and answer our prayers!
